During the British campaigns of India, Africa, the South Seas, and North America in the late 1700’s, ‘campaign’-style furniture was born. Inside the opulent canvas tents of Great Britain’s gentlemen officers were stylish, comfortable and easily-transportable furniture that brought the comfort and civility of home to “life under canvas.”
