Patterned after an exquisite Queen Anne model from the Tidewater area of Virginia and dated about 1740, this is a most handsome chair of ample proportions. From the inverted arch of the scrolled crest rail to the well-turned pads on the feet of the bold cabriole legs, the chair contains such elegance and adherence to antique details that the owner is assured of its perpetual worth and beauty.
Statton is pleased to offer an outstanding selection of dining chairs for use by themselves or to complement one of our many dining tables. Our designers have meticulously researched each pattern through study of hundreds of antique examples, working out the scale, proportions and the flow of line to ensure that each piece is faithful to the spirit of 18th century furniture design. Individual parts are hand carved in our own plant by skilled artisans. Like all our furniture, each chair is bench-built and finished to our exacting standards. The intricate and often subtle details which distinquish well made furniture cannot be mass produced but must be built in the manner of cabinetmakers down through the years; one at a time.
